Max Weissenfeldt

Maximilian Weissenfeldt is considered a style-defining drummer and pioneer in the fusion of traditional Asian and African music with urban soul.

In recent years, he has accompanied Thomas Ostermeier's "Othello" at Berlin's Schaubühne, produced or accompanied a number of records featuring singers from Africa - including the album "Nomad" by Touareg musician Bombino, which went straight to #1 on the American Billboard world music charts - and shot a film in Ghana. Further, he recorded "Locked Down" with Dan Auerbach of the acclaimed Black Keys, the latest album by New Orleans legend Dr. John, which won a Grammy in 2013. Last but not least, he is the man on the drums - also directed by Dan Auerbach - on Lana Del Rey's album.
